About

b. 1984, Boston.
B.F.A. Honours, Savannah College of Art & Design
A recipient of scholarships and artistic merits since childhood, Carolin's oeuvre hearkens to the golden age of illustration, myth, the ancient world as well as her various travels. From a young age, she began penning her mythical world, The Islands of Niljora, which would become the rich narrative and symbolism behind her work. She went on to study painting and concept art at The Savannah College of Art & Design, where she was advanced to graduate level courses, and has also studied classical drawing and painting in Boston and Italy.
After graduation, Carolin moved to her ancestral home of New Zealand where she was a finalist for the prestigious Adam Portraiture Award and chosen for a national tour through The New Zealand Portrait Gallery. Alongside exhibiting, Carolin has engaged in numerous projects over the years for magazines, books, albums and portraiture. In 2015, her first illustrated book was published and subsequently purchased for the permanent heritage collections of New Zealand's National and Otago University Libraries, later joined by her second book.
Today, she continues to live and travel around the world, creating her works and mythical tales. Her works have been selected for international books and magazines, including The International A.R.C. Salon, Infected By Art and Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, and can be found in collections in New Zealand, Europe, The United States and India.
